SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (CORPUS CHRISTI)
DATE: 07/06/2026
Church Cleaning Appreciation
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the St. Raphael Small Christian Community (Jumuiya) who cleaned the church yesterday. A total of 23 members participated. Next week, it will be the turn of the St. Scholastica Community, followed by the St. Benedict Community.
Contributions for Upcoming Clergy Appreciation
Last Sunday, we requested each Small Christian Community to contribute 100,000 Shillings to prepare a brief reception to congratulate the prospective Priests from our Parish. We continue to urge and request those communities that have not yet submitted their contributions to the Parish office to do so as soon as possible.
Lectors Ministry
Parishioners who wish to participate in reading the lessons during Sunday and weekday Masses are requested to see Mr. Catrece Abdalah, who will be located at the Youth Shop area.
Holy Childhood Holy Cross Pilgrimage
The Holy Cross of the Holy Childhood Association arrived at our Parish from St. Anne Hananasif Parish on Thursday, June 3rd. The Cross has begun its visitation cycle in the St. Andrew the Apostle Zone. The detailed visitation schedule has been sent to all Zone Leaders. On June 13th, the Cross will return to the Parish, where there will be a children's Catechesis starting at 9:00 AM. The Cross will conclude its cycle at our Parish on June 24th and will depart on June 25th. We strongly urge parents to involve their children so they can venerate the Cross, pray the Holy Childhood prayers according to the Diocesan guide, and attend the Catechesis in large numbers as scheduled.
Deanery Youth Seminar
There will be a seminar for all youth within the Deanery, held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Mwenge, on Saturday, June 13th, starting at 8:00 AM. All youth are highly encouraged to attend these seminars as they strengthen their faith. Transport will be provided, and the bus will depart from our Parish grounds at 7:15 AM.
Corpus Christi Procession
Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We will have a procession carrying Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament through some of the streets surrounding our Parish. We ask everyone to participate. We kindly request those who attended the First and Second Masses to return so that, immediately following the Third Mass, we can all join together as one family of Christ in this procession. The order of the procession is detailed below.
Introduction of Evening Daily Masses
The Parish Priest has accepted a recommendation from several parishioners to introduce evening Masses. Father Parish Priest has approved this request, and starting tomorrow, Monday, June 8th, there will be a Daily Mass every evening at 5:00 PM (Saa 11:00 Jioni). If attendance proves sustainable, this schedule will become permanent. We warmly welcome everyone to these evening Masses.
